Equate Petrochem to launch civil ID kiosks

Kuwait, November 5, 2013

Kuwait-based Equate Petrochemical Company has tied up with the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) to launch self-service kiosks for company employees to issue human resources (HR) certificates.

This will be done by using the Smart Civil ID system in co-operation with Diyar United Company, said a statement from Equate.

Through using the Smart Civil ID to electronically identify the user, the kiosks will allow Equate employees to instantly issue a number of authenticated HR certificates, such as salary certificate, salary continuity certificate, “To Whom It May Concern” letters, as well as other relevant matters, it stated.

The kiosks, considered the first of its kind at Kuwaiti firms, were launched under the patronage of PACI director-general Bassam Musaed Al-Asousi in the presence of PACI deputy director-general for Information Technology Mansour Al-Methen, Equate president & CEO Mohammad Husain and Diyar general manager Bashar Atout.

Speaking at the launch, Al-Asousi said, “PACI is greatly pleased to have such a project with Equate as it represents a practical application of the Civil ID’s multiple uses by using the kiosks to issue HR certificates for the company’s employees.

"The Civil ID will be used to electronically identify the employee. We consider this successful project as one of the important uses of the advanced capabilities in the Smart Civil ID that provides the highest level of security to users," he noted.

Husain said Equate paid great attention to its human resources who form the company’s most important cornerstone for success in all fields.

"There is no doubt that such collaboration with PACI and Diyar would contribute to saving the employees’ time and effort through using state-of-the-art technology, which is all part of manifesting Equate’s tagline of ‘Partners in Success’ and its continuous aspiration to further development and growth,” he added.

Atout said Diyar United was proud of its co-operation with PACI and Equate to execute the unique project for using the Smart Civil ID and integrating it with the self-service kiosks to issue HR certificate for Equate’s employees.

"We have dedicated our staff’s expertise in the usage of Smart Civil IDs and self-service kiosks to achieve this unique project within the set timeline," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
