Bahrain, Qatar to bolster relations
Manama, October 29, 2013
Bahrain and Qatar yesterday (October 28) pledged to bolster relations and expand co-operation in all fields, a report said.
This came as His Majesty King Hamad held official talks with Qatari Amir Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, attended the session.
His Majesty commended strong bilateral relations and stressed both countries' keen interest in bolstering co-operation.
He wished Qatar and its friendly people further progress and prosperity, led by Shaikh Tamim.
The two leaders discussed regional and international developments, as well as the prospects of joint co-operation.
The Qatari Amir earlier arrived in Bahrain and was welcomed by the King and the Crown Prince.
Ministers, Muharraq Governor, Bahrain Ambassador to Doha and Qatari Embassy charge d'affaires were also present.
Shaikh Tamim expressed delight at visiting Bahrain - his second home - paying tribute to the kingdom and its people.
"My visit to Bahrain stems from a keenness to exchange viewpoints regarding all issues and bolstering bilateral co-operation," the Qatari Amir said.
Causeway talks
Meanwhile, Bahrain-Qatar Friendship Causeway Organisation board will meet in Doha tomorrow to discuss issues related to the project’s execution.
The meeting follows the fruitful visit of Qatari Amir Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Bahrain, Finance Ministry Under-Secretary Arif Khamis said yesterday.
This vital project reflects the deep-rooted historic relations bonding Bahrain and Qatar in all fields and at all levels, he added. – TradeArabia News Service
