Al Ain Dairy, one of the largest dairy producers in the UAE, has launched a new fresh pomegranate juice in what will prove to be a “super” addition fruit juice range.

Pomegranates, native to the Middle East and probably one of the most challenging fruits to eat fresh, have been long regarded as a “super food”, a statement from Al Ain said.

In some clinical studies, pomegranate juice has been shown to be of significant benefit to health, especially in the prevention of heart disease. One glass of fresh pomegranate juice delivers 40 per cent of the US recommended daily allowance (RDA) of Vitamin C making it a “super” juice. It also has Vitamin A, E and folic acid in good quantities to promote overall good health.

Pomegranate juice is rich in antioxidants with three times more antioxidants ounce for ounce than green tea. It is also an excellent agent for promoting blood flow to the heart whilst reducing blood pressure, the statement said.

Pomegranate has also proven to raise HDL “good” levels of cholesterol while helping to lower the LDL or “bad” cholesterol and cancer fighting properties.

Kingston Fernandez, head of sales at Al Ain, said: “Depending on the variety, pomegranate juice can be quite sour or pleasantly tart, but Al Ain Dairy has come up with a refreshing blend that truly balances its natural sweetness offering a refreshingly rich taste that will be a really winner this summer.”

Fresh Pomegranate juice is the latest in a long line of new products the company is rolling out this year, the statement said.
