Bahrain's parliament is holding British authorities responsible after two publicity seekers were allowed to camp out on the Bahrain Embassy in London for more than 24 hours.

It issued a statement yesterday in which it demanded the prosecution of both men and a review of the UK's policy on political asylum and awarding of British passports to Bahraini dissidents.

The two men Moosa Al Sitrawi and Ali Mushaima, who is wanted in Bahrain in connection with two terrorism trials, were allowed to remain on the roof of the embassy since Monday without police intervention before they came down yesterday.

Bahrain's parliament is now demanding action from British authorities to protect the embassy, as required by international law.

'We want legal action taken against the two terrorists and police have to start procedures without delay against them, considering that they horrified and threatened our diplomatic personnel,' said a statement read by parliament chairman Khalifa Al Dhahrani yesterday.

Foreign Ministry Under-Secretary Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla said at a Press conference held at the ministry headquarters last night that severely cold weather and falling rain contributed to speeding up the intruders' surrender.

He said that Bahrain will take all legal proceedings against the two and ask the British authorities to hand them over. – TradeArabia News Service
