Alba praises national charter's growth role

Manama, February 15, 2012

Aluminium Bahrain's (Alba) employees have expressed their gratitude to Bahrain's leadership with celebrations held yesterday to mark the 11th anniversary of the National Action Charter.

The Charter, introduced under the guidance of His Majesty King Hamad in 2001, led to substantial and far-reaching political, economic and social reforms for the people of Bahrain.

"It is our pleasure and privilege to join in the celebrations," said Alba chief executive Laurent Schmitt.

"As a company with a 40-year presence in Bahrain, our success has been the result of the leadership's vision that saw establishing the Middle East's first aluminium smelter.

"This document proposed by the leadership has provided the basis for some of the key political, economic and social reforms that Bahrain's citizens - including Alba's Bahraini employees - enjoy today."

Schmitt and Alba labour union chairman Ali Bin Ali along with other members of the senior executive management team, managers and employees took part in the celebrations.-TradeArabia News Service
