Hyatt to participate in Gourmet Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, January 11, 2012
Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi will participate in Gourmet Abu Dhabi, an annual gastronomic event, is set to take place from February 8 to 23 in the UAE’s capital city.
“Gourmet Abu Dhabi is a lifestyle gastronomic extravaganza that marries culture and cuisine impeccably, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s advanced modernisation and its rich Middle Eastern heritage,” organisers said.
“Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi will host a celebrity chef from Turkey, Chef Musa Da?deviren, in our signature restaurant, 18 Degrees,” said Federico Mantoani, food and beverage director at the hotel.
Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi will showcase four key dishes at the event’s opening night: cold beef tartar with bulgur, sumac, parsley, mint, chilli, and croutons; hot duck confit with celery, spiced-orange, and walnut salad; roast lamb loin with lemon, hazelnut, cumin, coriander, and sesame carved at a live-station; and, one of the hotel’s signature food offerings, profiterole of cod fish brandade with red onion marmalade.
“For the opening gala event we chose dishes that are reflective of the cuisine featured in 18° - simply-prepared foods done very well, presented smartly and with a contemporary twist that both surprise and delight guests,” said Steffen Gube, executive chef of Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi.
Visiting Turkish chef, Musa Da?deviren, will conduct a master class at the Abu Dhabi Armed Forces Officers’ Club on February 13, and from 14 to 17, as part of the hotel’s participation as a partner in the Gourmet Abu Dhabi programme, he will be the chef-in-residence at the Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi.
“The owner of three Turkish cuisine restaurants in Istanbul – Çiya Kebap, Çiya Kebap II, and Çiya Sofrasi – chef Musa Da?deviren is known for reviving the dishes that Turkey had forgotten.
Since 2005, he and his wife have been publishing a quarterly magazine, Yemek ve Kültür, with each issue carrying a section devoted to ‘Seven Forgotten Folk Recipes’,” Mantoani said.
A special brunch will be served on February 17 giving the guests an opportunity to experience the signature dishes from both 18° and Chef Musa, the statement said.
The restaurant is located on the 18th floor and serves as Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi’s primary dining outlet and offers weekly Friday brunch prepared by chef Steffen Gube, it said. – TradeArabia News Service
