A total of 30 lawyers, judges and mediators from across Morocco took part in a recent workshop that focused on mediation as a means of alternative dispute resolution in Rabat, Morocco.

The three-day mediation workshop organised by the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) in co-operation with the Moroccan Bar Association (MBA) imparted skills and techniques for successful mediation along with an introduction to the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services and state-of-the-art facilities available at BCDR-AAA.

"It is important that we develop the best international standards in mediation, MBA co-coordinator Youssef Al Flah said.

"The BCDR-AAA is a recognised, regional leader in the provision of ADR services and we are grateful for its support and insight in the field of mediation. We see this as the beginning for us, we hope to continue this partnership as we seek to increase awareness of the merits of ADR amongst businesses, government organisations and individuals.

"And obviously, the provision of highly reputable ADR services is always an attraction for foreign investors," he added.

BCDR-AAA chief executive James MacPherson and chief registrar and assistant chief executive mediation Ali Al Aradi attended.

"It's a great opportunity to come to Rabat and create strong business links with our Moroccan counterparts that will continue to be fostered in the future.

"It also demonstrates the chamber's growing international reputation to be invited by the MBA to provide this course," Al Aradi said.
