National Geographic to take part in summit

National Geographic Al Arabiya will participate as a media partner at the Eye on Earth Abu Dhabi 2011 Summit set to start tomorrow (December 12).

The summit will go on till December 15, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, a statement from the company said.

It will be part of the exhibition area showcasing its photo exhibitions, ‘Colours of the World’ and ‘Simply Beautiful’ featuring 32 National Geographic photographs from around the globe.

Mohammed Al Hammadi, editor-in-chief, National Geographic Al Arabiya, said: “The National Geographic Al Arabiya photo exhibit is a wonderful example of the rich content we provide to inspire and educate our audience about our planet and our responsibility to protect it.”   

The Eye on Earth Abu Dhabi 2011 Summit will be held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, and convene world leaders and experts in environmental and societal information.

The summit will see participation from eminent speakers including former President Bill Clinton; Achim Steiner, UNEP executive director and under-secretary-general of the UN;   prof Jacqueline McGlade, executive director of the European Environment Agency; and National Geographic researcher-in-residence, Dr Sylvia Earle. – TradeArabia News Service
