Bahrain PM vows transparent security

Bahrain's Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has reaffirmed the Kingdom's keenness to ensure that security agencies commit to transparency and international standards.

Visiting the Interior Ministry, His Royal Highness gave directives to the officials to review the performance of security agencies to gauge factors of success and remove aspects which may damage their status.

The Prime Minister also urged the officials to promote human rights culture. He pledged more support for security forces to assume their duties in accordance with the law and the constitution.

He met with Interior Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and senior officers and stressed the need for Bahrain to cope with fast global and regional developments and changes.

'It's not in the kingdom's habit to be a passive follower, but instead be a trailblazer,' HRH the Premier said, vowing to ensure Bahrain remains at the forefront.

He slammed sectarianism, saying that all attempts to promote the 'heinous disease' would fail as Bahraini society is cohesive.

He praised all parties for their endurance and patience during the recent unrest - paying special tribute to the security forces, being the watchful eye to ensure national security as well as the safety of people and property.

He paid tribute to the security forces for protecting public and private property, hailing their contribution in enforcing law and order.

He lauded their dedication in serving citizens and the nation to ensure Bahrain emerges from the crisis.

He also urged them to continue efforts to further anchor the state institutions and the rule of the law and protect democracy and freedom.-TradeArabia News Service
