Rosewood Corniche celebrates Italian food

Jeddah, October 20, 2011

Jeddah’s premier luxury hotel, Rosewood Corniche, will take diners on a culinary tour of fine traditional and modern Italian food during its Italian food festival from October 26 to November 4.

Under the guidance of Chef Claudio Melis from La Cucina Restaurant, at Rosewood property, Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh, staff at Rosewood Corniche’s Habsburg restaurant will prepare and serve Italian food from eight live cooking stations, a statement from the hotel said.

The luxury hotel will offer diverse items not usually found in the country, such as Sicilian street food, Italian gelati and traditional comfort food like slow-cooked, meat-heavy ‘mamma style’ dishes. Prices for the festival start at SR165 ($44) per person plus a 15 percent service charge.

“My aim is to introduce the people of Jeddah to my favourite Italian dishes,” Melis said. “We have sourced the very best ingredients for our diners so they can truly understand the flavours of Italy.”

“We would like to elevate the Italian experience for our guests by bringing in specialties they may not have tried before in Saudi Arabia while also satisfying their desire for well prepared, quality favourites” said Hans-Peter Leitzke, managing director, Rosewood Corniche.

All Italian festival diners will have the chance to enter a raffle to win one of six round-trip tickets to Milan or Rome with Gulf Air.  Winners will be chosen by a random draw on the last day of the festival.

Those eager to take part will be able to dine each evening from 7pm to midnight throughout the festival.  A mixture of Italian items and traditional Arabic food will be available for Friday brunch on October 28 and November 4.

Designed for both business and leisure travellers, Rosewood Corniche is ideally positioned on Jeddah’s Corniche, one of the city’s most impressive districts.  The celebrated Jeddah Corniche runs parallel to the Red Sea for over 32 km and provides convenient access to the city’s business and leisure areas.

As the premier hotel in Jeddah, Rosewood redefines modern elegance and offers unparalleled personal service and world-class amenities, including 24-hour butler service for each of the 127 guest rooms and suites. – TradeArabia News Service
