Qatar Solar staff gets 60pc pay hike
Doha, October 8, 2011
Qatar Solar Technologies Company (QSTec) has announced a 60 per cent hike in salaries for its Qatari employees in line with a royal Qatari decree.
QSTec is a JV between Qatar Solar (a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development), SolarWorld AG and Qatar Development Bank.
The pay hike, which is effective from September 1, will include a basic salary and social allowance, said QSTec CEO Dr Khalid Klefeekh Al Hajri.
Al Hijri urged the employees to redouble their efforts in order to achieve strategic goals and the vision of the institution.
QStec’s $1 billion polysilicon manufacturing plant, located in Ras Laffan Industrial City, will initially produce 8,000 MTPA polysilicon for use in the solar industry before vertically integrating along the solar value chain.
QSTec has acquired the advanced second generation technology for solar grade polysilicon production from Centrotherm Photovoltaics of Germany.-TradeArabia News Service
