Bahrain has revealed details of the occupation of Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) by its medical cadre based on a verdict issued by the National Safety Court of First Instance.

Unveiling the details on Friday, Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Public Military Prosecutor Colonel Dr Yousif Rashid Flaifal said the convicts' roles were described based on detailed confessions of some of them, eyewitnesses' testimonies and investigations.

Ali Al Ekri led the conspiracy, assigned roles and ordered guards to be stationed at the hospital's entrances, allowing in only those who served their purposes.

Those who called for the overthrow of the regime and were injured outside the GCC Roundabout received treatment.

He tasked Hassan Al Sadadi and his group to block gates with ambulances to prevent security forces from entering and set up tents in the car parks. Two Kalashinkovs, knives and daggers were stocked in ambulances.

Ghassan Dhaif was entrusted with dealing with local and foreign media and Abdulkhaliq Al Oraibi supervised the medical tent. Marhoon Al Wedae provided ambulances and weapons to protesters.

According to court details, the group held their first meeting at the residence of Bahrain Nursing Society president Rula Al Saffar.

Al Saffar was assigned the role of calling for meetings, rallies, sit-ins and demonstrations through SMS addressed to nurses.

Qassim Omran was in charge of the media committee while Mahmoud Asghar was appointed his deputy as well as the group's official spokesman.
