A total of 129 candidates from across all the UAE have registered on the first day for the upcoming Federal National Council elections.

The National Election Committee (NEC) has announced the preliminary list of registered candidates for the elections to be held on September 24.

The number of registered candidates in the different emirates is: Abu Dhabi – 27; Dubai – 36; Sharjah 29; Ras Al Khaimah – 16; Ajman – 10; Umm Al Quwain – 7, and Fujairah 4, according to a statement issued by the NEC. – TradeArabia News Service
