UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and chairman of the National Election Committee has joined leading social media platform Twitter to communicate on Federal National Council elections.

Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, who is also the Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, will operate under the handle name @AnwarGargash.

Dr Gargash became the first UAE Federal Minister to officially join Twitter for communicating with UAE nationals and others interested in the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) elections to be held on September 24, 2011.

Dr Gargash, who personally manages the account, observed that Twitter is an ideal platform for directly communicating with people from all walks of the society interested in the FNC elections, especially the youth who constitute 35 per cent of the total voters in the Electoral College in the UAE. – TradeArabia News Service
