Batelco presents Ramadan baskets to charity fund

Manama, August 2, 2011

Batelco, Bahrain’s leading telecom company, has distributed 27,000 Ramadan baskets to charities for delivery to needy families as part of its annual charitable programme.

Among the charity organisations that benefited from the programme is Isa Town Charity Fund. Batelco public relations specialist Ahmed Zainal presented the baskets to Isa Town Charity Fund managing director Ali Hussain.

Batelco annually donates thousands of gift baskets to needy families who have been identified by charitable societies as needing extra support during the holy month of Ramadan.

“This year we have increased the number of baskets by 2,000 to 27,000 and all were delivered in time for the beginning of the Holy month of Ramadan,” said Batelco Group general manager media relations Ahmed Al Janahi.

Batelco also donates millions of dinars every year towards a wide variety of programmes covering health, sports, education and community initiatives.

“The company’s support to the community is among the best in Bahrain when it comes to the amount of money committed to charitable causes,” added Al Janahi.  – TradeArabia News Service
