Batelco backs youth cultural fest
Manama, July 28, 2011
Batelco, Bahrain’s leading telecom company, is joining hands with the organising committee of an annual youth cultural festival to enhance the variety of programmes at this year’s event.
Ta’a Al Shabab, set to take place in September, was launched in 2009 with the support of the Cultural Ministry, to direct Bahrain’s youth towards cultural and intellectual undertakings.
Through a series of initiatives related to architecture, reading, research, literature, music and technology, young people are provided with the opportunity to interact and learn while sharing their knowledge and experiences.
This year’s theme, “Restoration ...Intellection ... Approximation” will build on the successes of the past two years and increase the scope of the festival by the addition of a new programme under the theme of ‘Technique’.
Batelco’s contribution will support this new programme which has an emphasis on the evolution of telecommunications and IT and aims to increase youth awareness through a range of displays, seminars and workshops.
Minister of Culture, Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa expressed the Ministry’s keen interest in the youth of Bahrain, stating that they had an ongoing commitment to support and sponsor innovative youth related activities.
Batelco Group General Manager Media Relations Ahmed Al Janahi said that initiatives that added value to the lives of young Bahraini’s were high on Batelco’s priorities under their CSR programme.
“Furthermore, we are very keen to support programmes that foster awareness about telecommunications and IT with the aim to expand the knowledge of participants with regard to understanding the rapidly changing industry,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
