Jeddah, July 23, 2011

The total of donations for Ramadan from most companies in Saudi Arabia has reached SR1 billion ($266 million).

Al Rabie Saudi Food Company, a leading food and beverage brand in Saudi Arabia, recently led a donation campaign to raise funds for charities in all regions of Saudi Arabia.

The donations included associations providing assistance for older people as well as children with special needs and others to lessen the suffering of individuals and families in need across the Saudi Arabia.

The proceeds of the campaign will be donated to several charitable organisations in Saudi Arabia, and other similar specialised institutions that are focused on providing financial and moral support to those in need.

“We thank God for giving us the fortune to celebrate this Holy month. We ask God almighty to accept our efforts and charitable acts which were aimed at easing the suffering of the needy, by donating to our brothers across KSA through the charitable organisations,” said Monther Al Harthi, CEO, Al Rabie Saudi Foods.

“We also thank all the officials and managers of these organisations for the ongoing efforts to deliver the donations to the right people.”

“We greatly appreciate the role of charities in building a healthy and balanced society. We launched this initiative to support and strengthen these efforts, while also encouraging residents and the corporate sector to be part of it,” he added.

“We also affirm that we will constantly provide a series of initiatives within our corporate social responsibility theme to serve the Saudi society, not only in Ramadan but also along the year round as well as to provide the best foods and juices following international standards to achieve our motto of (heath for all),” Al Harthi concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
