US names new envoy to Bahrain

Manama, June 30, 2011

US President Barack Obama has nominated Thomas C Krajeski as the new ambassador to Bahrain. He succeeds Adam Ereli, who left in January after serving three and a half years.

Krajeski has been a member of the Foreign Service since 1979 and serves as senior vice-president of the National Defence University. He earlier served at the US Embassy in Baghdad as the senior adviser to the Ambassador on Northern Iraq Affairs.

Krajeski was also director of Career Development and Assignments for the Department of State and from 2004 to 2007 served as US Ambassador to Yemen.

Previous overseas assignments include work in Iraq, Dubai, the UAE, Egypt, Poland, India and Nepal. – TradeArabia News Service
