Top events expo opens in Dubai

The Middle East EVENT Show, connecting the region’s meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions (MICE), events and entertainment suppliers and buyers, opened in Dubai yesterday (June 1).
The two-day exhibition and seminar programme, which is running at Dubai International Exhibition and Conference Centre, was inaugurated by Khalid Ahmed Bin Sulayem, director general of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.
One of the main features of the exhibition is the new entertainment pavilion, which features a number of live acts including the ‘living dolls’ performance as well as British vocalist Tom Rust, the locally based Mohamad Hamami Orchestra and Belgian jump ropers Planet Jump Rope.
Running alongside the Middle East EVENT Show will be the fourth edition of the Middle East EVENT Awards.
Hosted by Korean Vietnamese stand-up comic Wonho Chung, the event will attract more than 600 guests celebrating outstanding performance from individuals and organisations in the events industry.
A shortlist from over 200 nominations will be judged in 19 separate categories. – TradeArabia News Service
