Sofex takes part in Istanbul defence fair
Amman, May 26, 2011
The Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (Sofex), a major defence exhibition, participated in the recently held 10th International Defence Industry Fair (Idef) in Istanbul.
Sofex’s participation at Idef 2011 comes as part of the team’s preparations for Sofex 2012, the ninth edition of the series that features the latest developments in the world of special operations forces and homeland security, a statement said.
Sofex 2012 will commence with one full day dedicated to the Sofex Conference followed by the three day Sofex exhibition, it added.
“Sofex is the only exhibition and conference of its kind in the MENA region, and one of the most important defence exhibition and conference on the global calendar, therefore our participation at Idef provided the Sofex team with an important platform to explain the Sofex vision and distinctiveness in serving the global Special Forces and homeland security communities,” said Amer Tabbah, managing director of Sofex.
“Exhibiting at Idef was also a notable opportunity for the team to interact and network with the international defence community to fully confirm commitments made during Sofex 2010 in our preparations for our ninth edition of the Sofex series.”
“The relationship between Sofex and Idef is a privileged one that continues to develop over the years. Turkey participated at Sofex 2010 as a national pavilion for the second time, and we look forward to confirming Turkey’s participation at Sofex 2012,” he added.
