Xerox unveils new print solutions at expo

Xerox has unveiled a range of firsts for the region at an ongoing exhibition for the print industry in Dubai.

Gulf Print 2011, a trade show dedicated to printing and publishing, opened yesterday (March 14) at Dubai Airport Expo and will conclude on March 17.

The company will demonstrate ways in which print professionals, graphic designers and vertical enterprise businesses can reduce costs and grow through the strategic use of digital and value added services, a statement said.

According to a recent market intelligence report by Pira International, the total printing revenues in the Mena region in 2009 reached $5.7 billion, and are expected to increase to a total of over $7 billion by 2015.

“The print industry in the Middle East is seeing phenomenal growth with more and more businesses recognizing the short and long-term benefits of investing in high-end digital printing technology,” said Dan Smith, general manager for integrated marketing, Xerox, Middle East and Africa.

“Customers expect more from their providers than just great technology.  They want partners that can help them better serve their customers, produce more jobs and grow their business.”

“We've responded by providing them with the right technology, the right workflow, and the right business development tools,” added JP Teti, manager production technology, Xerox Middle East.

Xerox will unveil the iGen4 Exp, the industry’s largest digital cut-sheet solution available today that enables printing of three A4 sizes pages on one sheet. The iGen4 Exp gives users an immediate productivity spike with a host of new prepress and finishing capabilities, the statement said.

In addition to the iGen4, Xerox will showcase of the 1000 Color Press prints at 2400 x 2400 dpi for excellent sharpness and uniformity and use Xerox’s new low-melt emulsion aggregation (EA) dry ink, which delivers an offset-like finish.

Xerox will also launch a range of new software tools designed to enhance customer productivity as well as the range of products that are available to their customers:

• Myclick2print- a cloud based software tool that enables users to easily create, manage, store and submit documents using the web.

• CMI- a cloud based color management tool that facilitates remote monitoring of a digital print devices' color systems in order to maintain accurate color reproduction.

• XMPie- a multi-media suite of software that enables fully customized communications across web, email, SMS and print.

Xerox will also be hosting daily seminars and presentations on their stand covering topics including workflow, web to print, basic variable data printing and business development, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
