The Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (Sofex) is participating in the 10th International Defence Exhibition and Conference (Idex 2011), which opened in Abu Dhabi today.

Sofex’s participation in Idex comes as part of the preparations for Sofex 2012, the 9th edition of the series, a statement said.

Sofex 2012, under the patronage of King Abdullah II will take place in Amman, Jordan from May 7 – 10, 2012.

The Sofex team will convey its uniqueness in its focus on special operations and homeland security and its status as the global meeting place for the decision makers and the industry serving these communities to network and exchange experiences, it said.

Amer Tabbah, managing director of Sofex stated "Sofex and Idex have a long and special relationship which has grown stronger over the years. I am very delighted to see that both exhibitions have grown to become leaders in their fields and essential on the global defence exhibitions calendar for both the regional and international decision makers as well as the industry.
