World’s highest restaurant opens at Burj Khalifa

Dubai, January 23, 2011

At.mosphere, the world’s highest restaurant, has opened in Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building in Dubai.

At 442 metres (1,350 ft) high on Level 122 of Burj Khalifa, only two levels below ‘At the Top, Burj Khalifa,’ the tower’s observatory deck, At.mosphere presents a unique dining concept that appeals to all epicureans – from  fine dining connoisseurs to lounge lovers.

Integrating two choices - lounge & grill – At.mosphere can host over 210 guests and features a spacious arrival lobby, a main dining floor, private dining rooms and display cooking stations.

“Being one of a kind, anywhere in the world, At.mosphere offers a unique restaurant experience. Every aspect of the restaurant has been carefully designed and executed - be it the elegant décor, warm ambience, food choice and service standards. At.mosphere is indeed about offering the best in dining,” said Mohamed Alabbar, chairman, Emaar Properties, the developer of Burj Khalifa.

The entrance to the restaurant is through Burj Khalifa’s Corporate Suites lobby with guests exiting the express elevator on Level 123 to face a two-storeyed glass atrium. A flight of cantilevered staircases lead them to the arrival lobby where they can enjoy panoramic views of the city.

The grill at At.mosphere is open for lunch from 12.30pm to 3pm and for dinner from 7pm to 11.30pm. The menu comprises prime cuts of beef, organic poultry and seafood with emphasis on fresh products and healthy, simple cooking – grilled, broiled or baked. The food choice is complemented by an extensive beverage selection.

The open-show kitchen outlet uses the Josper grill oven - a closed BBQ dual oven powered by Binchutan charcoal designed in Spain. The grill, chic and luxurious in design - can seat 80 and includes a private dining room with a Chef’s Table for 12.

The lounge at At.mosphere is for the young, young at heart and trendy. A round conversational table replaces traditional design concepts highlighting the friendly ambience.

The upscale lounge, with a seating capacity of 135 and a private area for 35, is open from 12pm to 2am, pushing the boundaries of conventional lounges, and serving as an ideal stopover for a mouth-watering light lunch or an afternoon tea.

“At.mosphere is the newest addition to the Lifestyle Dining portfolio of Emaar Hospitality Group. It redefines the restaurant concepts in Dubai, with a choice of two dining concepts and focus on offering a luxury lifestyle experience,” added Marc Dardenne, chief executive officer, Emaar Hospitality Group, which manages the outlet.

“The highlight of At.mosphere is its emphasis on the highest standards in food quality using only fresh ingredients serving modern eclectic European cuisine with an emphasis on grilled items. A dedicated team of experienced kitchen and service professionals will ensure dignified service, with the highest regard for guest privacy.”

At.mosphere is led by executive chef Dwayne Cheer, who brings in over 13 years of international experience working in Michelin star restaurants; and director of operations Gabriele Babini with 20 years experience in Las Vegas, Canada and Italy.

Adorned in mahogany walls and ceilings, Adam Tihany furnishings, and floors of café au lait limestone and hand-tufted carpet, At.mosphere also features a stunning beverage display and cellar, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
