Egypt's Alcotexa sells 2,555 T cotton

Egypt's Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) said it sold 2,555 tonnes of cotton in the week that ended on December 18, an Alcotexa official told Reuters on Sunday.
The sales comprised 355 tonnes of the Giza 88 variety and 2,200 tonnes of Giza 86, the official said.
Alcotexa's export commitments for the 2010/11 season, which began in September, are now 88,199 tonnes of cotton worth $326.06 million, the official added.
By this time last year, Alcotexa had sold 46,719 tonnes of cotton worth $102.9 million.-Reuters
