600 exhibitors to take part in Jewellery Arabia

Manama, October 13, 2010

Jewellery Arabia 2010 returns with a sell-out show at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, from October 26 to October 30.

More than 600 exhibitors from 30 countries are participating in the event, which is held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

The most prestigious master jewellers and watchmakers in the world will shine on a floor area of 18,000 square metres, complemented by the creative gleam of national pavilions from leading jewellery exporting countries and the refined sparkle of the Middle East's finest retailers and manufacturers.

Eminent jewellery houses and watch manufacturers making a return appearance at Jewellery Arabia 2010 include Cartier, Chopard, Harry Winston, Hublot, Patek Phillipe and Piaget, among numerous others.

Country pavilions from Brazil, Hong Kong and India, in addition to a strong Lebanese and GCC contingent, complement the line-up.

Some of Bahrain's leading jewellers - including Bahrain Jewellery Centre, Asia Jewellers, Al Mahmood Pearls, Al Zain and Devji - will bring together stunning collections of famous international brands.

The dynamic and innovative designs of local jewellers will also be spotlighted by a dedicated pavilion of Bahrain jewellers, co-ordinated by Tamkeen.

Many of these exhibiting companies will once again have an exclusive presence in the Middle East at Jewellery Arabia, affording upwards of 40,000 visitors a unique preview of the global market.

'Jewellery Arabia's variety, size and quality set it apart from other exhibitions in the region,' said Arabian Exhibition Management's sales and marketing director Fawzi Al Shehabi.

'Designers of unique one-off watch and jewellery pieces, giant luxury goods companies, and a multicultural mix of national pavilions all exhibit alongside each other and combine to make this such an exceptional event.'

The Sixth Middle East Watches, Jewellery and Pen Awards will be held on the sidelines of Jewellery Arabia 2010 at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa on October 26.

Hosted by MPP Middle East, publishers of Arabian Watches and Jewellery (AWJ), the awards are decided by online public voting and analysis by an elite committee comprising watch, jewellery and pen collectors, connoisseurs and aficionados.

Since its launch in 1992, Jewellery Arabia has established itself as the biggest and most prestigious jewellery exhibition in the Middle East, providing international jewellery houses with unrivalled direct access to trade buyers and private collectors from throughout this important economic sector.

Last year's show attracted over 39,000 qualified visitors. Of those, 23 per cent came from Saudi Arabia - the region's single largest jewellery market.

Jewellery Arabia will open from October 26 to October 29, from 4pm to 10pm.

On October 30, the exhibition will open from 10am to 1pm and 4pm to 10pm.-TradeArabia News Service
