OBG names team for RAK project
Ras Al Khaimah, September 22, 2010
Oxford Business Group (OBG), the global publishing, research and consultancy firm, has appointed a new team to lead its forthcoming project in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK).
Suzanne P Claiden will lead production of the Group’s forthcoming business guide, The Report: Ras Al-Khaimah 2011 as OBG’s new country director, while Ehab Abdrabou takes on the role of editorial manager.
Commenting on her new challenge, Claiden said that she was delighted to be handed a key task in RAK as OBG expands its operations across the Gulf.
“Ras Al Khaimah has made impressive progress in driving forward its manufacturing and industrial sectors, while also cultivating a business-friendly environment for investors and tapping new export markets,” said Claiden.
“I look forward to following the Emirate’s ongoing economic development and ensuring it is comprehensively analysed in our forthcoming report.”
Abdrabou, who will lead the groundwork undertaken by OBG’s editorial and research team, added that the progress made in diversifying its economy had helped the Emirate to stave off the worst of the global economic crisis.
“Ras Al-Khaimah is set to continue with its economic expansion, building on a flourishing free trade zone while using its strategic location to its advantage,” he said.
“I am confident that the business intelligence we gather for our new report will accurately reflect the impressive economic activity taking place in Ras Al-Khaimah and map out the exciting investment opportunities this is producing.”
Abby Lindenberg, OBG’s regional director, said that the experience both team members had gained in information gathering and data analysis, together with their understanding of the workings of emerging economies, would prove invaluable as they prepare to head the Ras Al-Khaimah project.
“Suzanne and Ehab have a proven track record in sector-by-sector research on emerging economies across the continents which will stand them in good stead as they analyse the Emirate’s business development,” she said.
“I am confident that this expertise, together with their proven networking skills, will help to ensure that our new report serves as a highly useful point of reference for international investors.”
The Report: Ras Al-Khaimah 2011 will be a vital guide to the many facets of the country, including its macroeconomics, infrastructure, political landscape, banking and sectoral developments, a statement said.
Written by a team of OBG analysts who will be based in the Emirate for six months, it is set to be the premier guide for foreign direct investment into the country’s economy and will include interviews with leading political, economic and business figures, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
