Abu Dhabi conference to discuss 20 mega trends

Abu Dhabi, September 16, 2010

Frost & Sullivan will present top 20 global mega trends and potential scenarios of specific trends in 2020 at a conference in Abu Dhabi next month.

At its Global Community of Growth, Innovation and Leadership (GIL) 2010: Middle East, taking place on October 6 at Yas Rotana, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, Frost & Sullivan will bring together today’s best practitioners, visionaries, and thought leaders to share fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and practical solutions that enable organizations to stay ahead on the growth curve.

In light of today’s rapidly changing competitive landscape, Frost & Sullivan recognises the need for companies to build a solid vision and strategy to accelerate growth, drive innovation, and support the development of visionary leadership, a statement said.

The event will delve into the CEOs' perspective on growth and at the same time present the Top 20 Global Mega Trends and their impact on business, cultures and society. This presentation sets the stage for visionary thinking by identifying the most important global mega trends, potential scenarios of specific trends in 2020, and the implications of these mega trends in transforming society, markets and cultures.

Through candid discussions, collaboration, and brainstorming, industry leaders, visionaries and thought leaders will convene to gain a deeper understanding of current trends and challenges facing their industries over the next decade.

Frost & Sullivan will also host a Growth Workshop on ‘Implementation of Top 20 Global Mega Trends in the Middle East Economy.’

Chairman David Frigstad said: “Frost & Sullivan's 2009 CEO Growth Survey found that the recession of 2009 caused many CEOs to shift their focus from long-term strategies to short-term revenue generation and cutting costs. However, their top priority had not changed. I was pleased to see that, despite the economic conditions, top line revenue growth remained the most important objective for CEOs. I think that really is where the CEOs leadership needs to be focused the most.'

This year’s Congress will feature six industry think tanks focusing on Frost & Sullivan’s areas of industry specialisation -   Chemicals and Petrochemicals Think Tank focusing on ‘Strategic Planning for Product  Diversification:  Need of the Hour for Middle East Chemicals and Petrochemicals’;  Defense Think Tank focusing on the ‘Offsets’; Information and Communication Technologies Think Tank focusing on ‘Operational Excellence,  Responsibility and Profitability – Technology Strategies that Make a Difference’; Logistics Think Tank focusing on ‘Changing Regional Dynamics and Supply Chain Strategies in Middle East’;  Metals and Minerals Think Tank focusing on ‘The 2020 Mega Trends for the Aluminium Industry in the Middle East Region’; and Power Transmission and Distribution Think Tank focusing on ‘The Inevitable Disruption of Status Quo:  Reshaping the Transmission & Distribution Landscape’.

These diverse industry think tanks highlight how Frost & Sullivan’s Growth, Innovation and Leadership congress is a must-attend for any organization serious about improving its performance and growth, the statement said. - TradeArabia News Service
