Bahrain Public Administration Institute (BIPA) said it has teamed up with the Kingdom's eGovernment Authority (eGA) to implement the micro eLearning project for government employees.

BIPA director general Dr Raed Mohammed bin Shams and eGA CEO Mohammed Ali Al Qaed signed the MoU at the eGA headquarters in the presence of officials from both organizations.

Dr Mohammed stressed the need of continuous learning through the various elearning and etraining channels and described it as an essential part of Bipa strategy within the framework of 'Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.'

He said that in the initial phase, BIPA will launch the project via computers, while in the second phase it will be through mobile phones. The project aims to provide training on administrative guidelines and organization policies to the government employees.

He also noted that the project will be available soon to all government employees, after the completion of contract phase with one of the specialized international institution.

Al Qaed said the agreement 'comes to translate our initiatives with BIPA to encourage public sector employees moving towards the etransformation and optimal use of technology.'

Al Qaed confirmed the keenness of the eGovernment Authority to provide the best services to government employees, with  the use of ICT in line with 'Bahrain strategic vision 2030' in the field of eGovernment.

Director of eTraining at BIPA, Mohammed Al Sabaa said the Micro eLearning project was one of the innovative projects in the field of learning and training being launched for the first time in Bahrain.

'The Micro eLearning system helps in enriching the information and the material that the government inspires its employees with. The program simplifies the information through a question and answer method, which will be repeatedly displayed on the screens of computers used by the employees whether during work, or at home or through the mobile phones,' he added.

On the advantages of the project, Al Sabaa said the system enjoys a number of advantages such as easy save and retrieval of information.'Many governmental entities can instill their data, systems and policies in the minds of the employees through this innovative system,' he added.-TradeArabia News Service
