Two of Bahrain's leading authorised dealers have sold out the new Humax HD receivers, which are the only way to view the English Premiership matches on Abu Dhabi Sport Channels kicking off this weekend.

However, both Al Mufeed Electronics and Future Satellite Services have already placed orders to get more receivers as many have already put their names to waiting lists, said a report.

Al Mufeed will get his stock on August 20, while Future expects it by Friday.

"We have already sold two batches of receivers over the past three weeks and the stock we currently have is booked and would be distributed to those who have paid us in advance," said Al Mufeed owner Sayed Mufeed Ali.

"I acknowledge there is demand, but Abu Dhabi was late to distribute their view technology to the market and the numbers they have distributed don't meet demand.”

"We are sorry to all of those who have been turned down and would not be able to watch the league during the weekend, but I hope that they will have the first matches broadcast for free until more people get the service,” he added.

"The problem is that not all have high definition (HD) considering that Abu Dhabi will broadcast the matches using that technology, so I hope that they would also show it in regular format to allow as many people as possible to enjoy."

Future main branch supervisor Shubeer Hussein said stocks were flying off the shelves.

"We are placing orders even before our stock finishes to ensure that whenever it finishes, we have receivers available within a day or two," he said.

"There are no receivers available at the moment, which means the Premiership subscription service is not available too, but that will change as new stock will come by Friday.

"People can always book from now and we promise that we would have their names on our list and whenever we have more receivers in hand, they will be contacted to collect,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
