Rare collections to go on show in Dubai

An exhibition featuring various unique collectibles and artefacts is set to open at BurJuman, a premier shopping centre, as part of the ongoing Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS).
The 13th edition of DSS, which started on June 17 will run up to August 7, with shopping promotions in over 6000 retail outlets and entertainment events across participating shopping malls in Dubai.
The Collectors will feature rare, distinctive, and unusual collections of objects and items that have sometimes also gained entry in the record books. The exhibition will run from July 12 to 24.
Collections displayed this year include old manuscripts and books about UAE and local culture from the Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage, branded vintage sunglasses, antique radios from different countries, unique collection of Christain Lacroix Evian bottles, DSS branded telephone cards, stamps, coins, paper money, classic cars, and modified cars.
A highlight of this year’s collection is the range of classic cars on display, a statement said. Around 30 in number, the cars will cover the entire first floor of BurJuman, a key sponsor of this year’s DSS.
Also of special interest is a collection of garments worn by the prolific Lebanese singer Sabah, known across the Arab world as the ‘singing bird’.
The Collectors this year has attracted Emarati, Syrian, French, Qatari, Pakistani, Indian, Saudi, and Kuwaiti collectors, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
