Batelco backs businesswomen’s network

Batelco, the leading telecom service provider in Bahrain, will be the silver sponsor of a major businesswomen’s network event to be held in Bahrain.

Organised by the Bahrain Business Women’s Society, the Middle East and North Africa Businesswomen’s Network (Mena BWN) – Global Launch – Roots of Economic, will take place after Ramadan.

The Mena BWN was created by Vital Voices in collaboration with the US State Department’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).

The Vital Voices Organization, a global partnership that works with businesswomen’s organisations in the Middle East and North Africa region, recently formed an independent NGO which comprises of organisations in 12 Middle Eastern countries.

The network’s goal is to increase the number of women in business and the value of their businesses, to advance the role of women in society, and to promote a regional culture of women's entrepreneurship.

Among the key aims is the provision of education, training, networking opportunities and communications programmes.

Batelco Public Relations Manager Osama Alsaad recently presented the silver sponsorship cheque to Ahlam Yousif Janahi who is head of information and public relations and also board member of Bahrain Business Women’s Society. – TradeArabia News Service
