Bride Show Dubai set to open
Dubai, April 6, 2010
The Bride Show Dubai will see over 300 local and international exhibitors showcase their products when the region's largest bridal and fashion event opens tomorrow (April 7).
The expo will be a 'one-stop-shop' for brides planning their wedding and girls who love fashion, beauty and jewellery, said the event organisers.
Vikram Phadnis, one of Bollywood’s hottest new designers, is taking part in the event for the first time and will kick-start four days of fashion shows with his debut 'Bride Show' collection at 5pm on the opening day, they added.
Vikram is one of a number of fashion designers who will be on the exhibition floor offering visitors to The Bride Show Dubai personal styling consultations.
Thirteen more fashion shows of haute couture evening wear, exquisite bridal gowns, abayas and jelibayas have been lined up until Saturday in Halls 1, 2 and 3 of the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, the organisers said.
Reem and Hind Belfajla, from local favourites 'Das Collection,' will be meeting clients and showcasing their latest collection of abayas, a casual line embellished with lots of bright, light spring and summer colours.
New this year is The Bridal Lounge which will feature experts from the region’s hair and beauty industry, including senior make up artists from MAC Cosmetics and l’Oréal Professionnel stylists to offer advice, tips and ideas to brides-to-be in an interactive, fun and comfortable setting.
Visitors to the show are in for an specially sweet treat as the culinary masters from the Shangri-la Hotel in Dubai have created a 16ft wedding cake – the largest ever to be seen in Dubai – as the focal point in the Hotel Zone, where brides-to-be can meet a number of hoteliers to discuss hosting their wedding as well as potential honeymoon destinations.
'Those who need a little guidance and advice when it comes to looking and feeling their best for their wedding day have a one stop shop for getting ready for their wedding,' the organisers said.
Running alongside The Bride Show Dubai is Women’s World Live which will feature a number of health and wellbeing services such as laser treatments, facials, fitness classes and alternative medicine.
Philips Consumer Lifestyle is taking part in Women’s World Live to showcase the new range of healthy kitchen appliances which helps people prepare healthy food at home. Visitors can also receive quick, simple and free health checks, including glucose levels, lung capacity, body mass index and blood pressure.
