A 20-year-old student from Middlesex University in Dubai has walked away with a Dh50,000 ($13,612) shopping spree at Mall of the Emirates after enjoying his favourite games at Magic Planet Mall of the Emirates.

Kourosh Pirnia, a regular at Magic Planet, entered the Magic Month competition on a recent visit with his friends.

“My friends and I have been to Magic Planet countless times, but the last time we went we were given tickets to enter the Magic Month draw. I thought I might as well enter but I never thought I would win,” said Pirnia.

The Business and Finance student was thrilled to find out the news about his win but initially thought the prize was too good to be true.

“When I first got the call I thought it was one of my friends pulling my leg and I didn’t believe him.  So I actually went into Magic Planet and they confirmed that the winner had been drawn. I couldn’t believe it, it is really amazing,” he added.

Pirnia plans to treat his family to some presents as well as splurge a little of his Dh50,000 prize on himself.

“I will probably buy my family some things but if I do have some money left for myself I think I will treat myself to a new watch or some other luxury item – it’s not every day that a university student gets to do that!”
