All 22 screens of Reel Cinemas, Dubai’s largest megaplex in The Dubai Mall, will open tomorrow (November 12).

The official opening of the city’s ultimate cinema experience will be marked by the UAE’s first digital screening of the much-awaited epic-film 2012 in Screen 22, the region’s first and only THX-certified cinema hall.  

Among the 12 screens being added are Screen 22, the first cinema in the UAE to be certified according to THX engineering standards for superior audiovisual quality; The Picturehouse, the region’s first arthouse cinema for serious film fans; and four luxurious Platinum Movie Suites featuring their own private lounge, 32 reclining leather chairs conveniently equipped with a side table, and personalised butler service throughout the movie.   

Reel Cinemas at The Dubai Mall is operated by Reel Entertainment, a joint venture of Emaar Retail and Singapore-based premier entertainment provider Cathay Organisation Holdings.  Following the opening of Reel Cinemas at The Dubai Mall, Reel Entertainment will launch its second 6-screen Reel Cinemas at Dubai Marina Mall next year.
