Summertown appoints projects head

Dubai, September 17, 2009

Summertown Interiors, a top corporate turnkey interior fit-out contractor, has appointed project management industry expert, James (Jimmy) Lynch to head up its projects department.

The appointment comes as a further step to ensure a high level of execution and accuracy for its corporate fit-out projects.

“Summertown Interiors is looking forward to seeing Jimmy in action,” said Marcos Bish, managing director of Summertown Interiors.

“He comes with a strong background in the field of project management and has worked on some impressive international projects, which for Summertown, serves as a great platform of experience to bring into our organization,” he added.

Bish continued: “As an ISO and LEED Gold compliant organisation, it is of paramount importance that we follow stringent guidelines in terms of providing turnkey solutions and the actual fit-out.  Jimmy will be a great asset to us ensuring that these measures are not only met, but adhered to throughout every facet of the project from start to finish.”

Prior to Lynch’s appointment at Summertown, he has recently worked as contracts manager for Designlab; in charge of design and build contracts management, and at EC Harris International (UAE) as a senior project manager for commercial office projects.

Jimmy holds three key areas of responsibilities for project management including: contracts management, health and safety, and project execution.

Jimmy Lynch said: “More important than the role of project management itself, is how a project is managed.  The function of project management is only as strong as the team managing it.

“Proper management of a project can yield not only timely results, but also allow for cost efficiency and savings.  I am looking forward to getting started with Summertown and becoming a part of the impressive repertoire of projects that they have underway.”

Jimmy Lynch and Summertown Interiors have already had the opportunity to work with one another having completed work on the 900 sq m Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, the first Japanese commercial bank to establish itself in the DIFC.

Summertown Interiors provided project management, and implementation of the design concept to complete the turnkey package.

“Our crucial on the ground contribution to this project resulted in a successfully executed, sophisticated office environment adhering to the requirements set forth by the bank’s top-end brand guidelines,” said Bish.

“Working with Jimmy Lynch on this project was a great way to experience his capabilities first hand.  We are all pleased to have him on board and look forward to welcoming him,” he concluded.

Jimmy Lynch will join the Summertown team in the beginning of October. – TradeArabia News Service
