“We are pleased to support this unique initiative of Qatar University’s Gas Processing Centre as part of our social investment programme,” said Ghanim Al-Kuwari, chief operating officer – administration, Qatargas.

“The competition will go a long way in encouraging the country’s younger generation to make their contribution towards the development of innovative projects for gas and related product technologies.”

The annual competition takes place at the beginning of each academic year. All schools in Qatar are encouraged to participate.

There are three categories for the award: class participation which is open to students of KG to fourth grade, essays and posters, which is open to students of fifth to eighth Grade and project work which is open to students of ninth to12th grade.

At the end of competition season, each participating school will launch a Gasna competition at the school level, and the winner of each category for each school will be recognized and nominated as finalists in the Gasna national contest.
