Crème de la Crème opens first salon in UAE
Dubai, September 3, 2009
Crème de la Crème, the Belgium-based manufacturer of ice cream and chocolates, has opened its first ice cream salon and coffee shop in the UAE at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
Crème de la Crème’s products, brought to the UAE by Dubai-based Nu Concepts, include seven flavours from the Leonidas chocolate factory and ice creams from well-known chains in Germany and Belgium.
The high-end ice cream brand is not only noted for the silky smooth taste of its ice creams, but also for creating beautifully designed interiors.
Crème de la Crème’s ice creams use only prime ingredients such as fruit flavours made from real fruit, mocha flavour from quality coffee and its unique flavour from genuine Belgian spiced biscuits, according to a statement. Also, the air added to the ice cream is limited to 30 per cent.
The Crème de la Crème outlet in DIFC also offers a selection of specialty coffee and tea, as well as delectable desserts like waffles, pancakes and crepes.
“We are pleased that Crème de la Crème has selected DIFC as the location of its first outlet in the UAE,” said Abdulla Bin Sougat, chief executive officer of the DIFC Lifestyle Group, which has created a high-end lifestyle haven within the DIFC financial district.
“The ice cream brand adds yet another facet to the rich lifestyle offering available within the financial district. Crème de la Crème’s presence will contribute to our efforts to offer a selection of high-end cafes that provide varied gastronomic experiences.”
Abdallah Taib, operations manager of Crème de la Crème, said: “DIFC is the ideal location in the UAE for our luxury brand. The whole idea is to offer a product of the highest quality in one of the most luxurious and comfortable settings. DIFC’s high quality lifestyle offering perfectly matches our profile.”
He also pointed out that ice cream offered on the market today commonly contains flavour enhancers, substantial quantities of colouring agents and up to 100 per cent of added air.
“Unfortunately, consumers have become accustomed to these synthetic products. Crème de la Crème contains 40 per cent fresh cream and is made without any artificial colouring agents or flavourings,” he added.
The salon also has an interior fitting and furniture collection inspired from authentic elements.
“The furniture collection is tailor-made for the Crème de la Crème concept, with a distinctive leather pattern and Swarovski crystal details that refer to the waffle pattern on ice cream cones,” Taib said.
“The whole collection is designed for comfort and luxury. With the use of the back-lit walls, we seek to create a real Crème de la Crème landmark in each location.”
Nu Concepts, which introduces high quality brands and new concepts in the market, plans to establish several Crème de la Crème outlets in malls, business centres and other locations. Currently, there are four different point-of-sales concepts being implemented in the UAE. – TradeArabia News Service
