Qatar to install modern navigational systems

Doha, July 21, 2009

Qatar's Civil Aviation Authority has awarded a €2.6 million ($3.7 million) contract to Selex Sistemi Integrati to supply and install an Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS) at Doha International Airport.

The airport will use the system to enhance the security and ground-based movements at the airport and also to monitor the accuracy of all processes underway at the airport.

The new system will monitor the movement of aircraft and all types of vehicles that provide various services round-the-clock.

The project is expected to be complete within six months.-TradeArabia News Service
