Dornbracht, the leading manufacturer of high-quality fixtures and accessories for the bathroom and kitchen, has come up with a new product segment: their first water units especially for the kitchen.

Kitchen planners, architects and end customers from now on have the opportunity to select high-quality perfectly adapted complete packages of Dornbracht water sets and water units.

The water units comprise various single and double units, developed in close co-operation with a Canadian premium manufacturer, specifically for combining with Dornbracht water sets for the kitchen.

Water units and water sets form a homogenous functional unit, optimally adapted to a specific wet working area. Dornbracht is thus consistently continuing the water sets and wet workplace concept introduced two years ago as kitchen zones – the separation of functional areas in the private kitchen in the same way as in the professional kitchen.

The introduction of the water units is, in the process, accompanied by the extension of the water zones: preparing and cleaning have been supplemented by cooking and drinking. For kitchens whose layout does not allow a complete separation of working processes, the universal area, with a multifunctional deep water unit and a shallow water unit, combines all the advantages of the water zones.

Since the drinking water zone is no longer solely restricted to the kitchen area, the name kitchen zone was at the same time systematically carried over into water zones.

For each of these water zones, different configurations are recommended, which meet the wish for functionality paired with individuality in the kitchen. So for the preparing area, a deep and a shallow water unit can be selected so that food can be optimally cleaned. Large shallow individual units are provided for cooking, so pots can be filled comfortably or water easily drained from pasta, for example.

The cleaning area is offered with two large water units. The shallow individual units are recommended for drinking. And for cooking in a limited space, universal combines all the advantages of the water units in a space-saving variant.

“With the new water units in combination with our water sets for the kitchen, we can offer a package where the individual components are perfectly aligned with each other”, said Andreas Dornbracht, CEO.

All water units are basins handmade from stainless steel, whose specific design is adapted to the requirements of the various functional areas in the kitchen.

The twenty individual and eight double water units, which were designed as base and inset basins to fit flush with adjacent areas, completely open up the functional area of the kitchen in a totally new way, thanks to their solid materiality and simple elegance.

Precision-welded, 1.5-millimetre-thick stainless steel does not just convey a new awareness of quality in the feel of its surface. With high precision and minimalist design, the water units are manufactured with an interior radius of 7. The excellent chromaticity and the finely brushed stainless-steel surface highlight the character of the kitchen as a living area that, more and more, is regaining its classical significance as the centre of the house and apartment.

Details – such as the ideally proportioned overflow and special sound pads for the design of an optimal water sound in the water unit – provide impressive evidence to support the claim of the highest perfection.
