Better Life opens smart kitchen concept store
Dubai, May 11, 2009
High-end home appliance retailer Better Life has partnered with German designers SieMatic to open a new, sprawling kitchen concept store in Dubai.
The German kitchen specialist believes that a luxury kitchen should appeal to more than just the five senses associated with food preparation, and bring a new level of intelligent infotainment to the kitchen area.
SieMatic’s S1 range incorporates TV, DVD, Internet, radio, and iPods, and its various features can be controlled through a touch screen Smart board, remote control device, or air mouse.
The S1-Grid presents Internet contents such as email, RSS feeds, and weather reports and also provides an impressive medium to display users’ individual data, such as photos.
“We think that most people in Dubai, given the choice, will prefer the best – and SieMatic is the best in the world,” said Stefan Albrink, Löhne, Germany-based managing director of SieMatic, who is currently in Dubai for the official opening of the store.
“From New York and Tokyo to Dubai, homeowners want to express themselves through their kitchens, and that means a technologically-advanced, customised design that reflects their lifestyle.”
“Dubai has some of the most impressive developments and private residences in the world, and the kitchens in these world-class properties should reflect this fact,” Ajai Kumar Dayal, general manager, Retail and Marketing, Easa Saleh Al Gurg, owners of Better Life.
“Investing in a kitchen that offers premium design, the most advanced technology, and uses the best materials will only add value to a property. The SieMatic concept store – to include its S1 range – will quickly demonstrate to all who visit that the kitchen remains the heart of any home and rightfully deserves continued investment from its owner,” Dayal added.
The SieMatic kitchen centre is not only the first of its kind in the UAE, but also represents a number of firsts as Better Life will be introducing new premium brands to complement the kitchens. In conjunction with the opening of the new store, the retailer will introduce products from German high design brand Gaggenau and French appliance specialists La Cornue.
The store will also include a dedicated gallery of built-in appliances from a number of Better Life’s existing luxury brands, namely Siemens, Electrolux and Fisher & Paykel. In addition there will be a dedicated display of the retailer’s stylish cookware and accessories.
SieMatic will have its S1, Beaux Arts, Painters Collection Royale, SL 8008 and SL 5005 ranges available at the concept store. These styles are inspired by a multitude of cultures, and vary from clean-line, minimalist design to intricately hand-crafted profiles.
The location will serve as a one-stop-shop for the members of the architecture and design community, whether they are involved in planning a single or multi-use residential property. In-house designers and sales consultants will be on-hand to provide advice on tailor-made solutions.-TradeArabia News Service
