Bahrain, Syria vow Arab unity push

Manama, April 4, 2009

Bahrain and Syria have pledged a new push for Arab solidarity during talks held between His Majesty King Hamad and the visiting president Bashar Al Assad.

Constructive joint action to serve the Arab nation topped the agenda as His Majesty King Hamad held talks with visiting president Bashar Al Assad, in the presence of Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, at Al Safriya Palace.

Talks also focused on excellent bilateral ties and ways of furthering them. The leaders also discussed the current situation in the Arab nation, topped by the Palestinian issue.

His Majesty and president Al Assad expressed hope that Palestinian brothers could, through dialogue, surmount their differences, for the sake of the aspired establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al Quds as its capital.

The King later hosted a dinner banquet in honour of the Syrian president.-TradeArabia News Service
