eGovernment upgrades portal
Manama, March 24, 2009
The eGovernment Authority of Bahrain (eGA) has recently started the transition process to the new upgraded infrastructure of the national portal (bahrain.bh).
The new infrastructure improves the efficiency of the national portal by increasing its capacity tenfold, and offers a unified and comprehensive platform to smoothly access government e-services at any time.
The eGA had announced its plans to improve the national portal infrastructure back in December of last year, citing the need to keep pace with the escalating traffic and volume of transactions of the site’s 76 current services, a number which will reach 200 by end of 2010, according to a statement.
A dedicated team has been assigned the task of executing and monitoring the transition, expected to take up to a week, to ensure that it is completed successfully while not affecting the services offered to the public.
“Since its creation in 2007, the eGA has consistently utilised innovative methods to realise the initiatives of Bahrain Vision 2030,” said Isa Abdulrahman, director of marketing and awareness, eGA.
“Launching the new and improved infrastructure is another key step to enable the National Portal to handle the various strategic programs we are about to execute, in line with our goal of offering the very best level of service to the general public,” he added.
“The improved infrastructure also further enhances the security features of the transactions processes on the national portal, and offers quicker browsing to reach the required information on the site.”
Abdulrahman also urged anyone who experiences any issues with the level of service during the transition to contact the eGA customer service desk’s toll-free number (80008001). – TradeArabia News Service
