CMCS bids to boost use of business tools
Abu Dhabi, March 2, 2009
Collaboration, Management and Control Solutions (CMCS) is organising a seminar aimed at improving the usage of portfolio and project management (PPM) tools by Middle East companies.
The seminar will be held tomorrow (March 3) at the InterContinental Abu Dhabi.
To be held under the theme “Empowering Project-driven Businesses”, the event will enlighten telecommunications, engineering and construction, power, and energy and process firms on how PPM solutions can help them adapt to today’s challenging business environments by achieving efficiency and managing project risk.
Although regional projects are currently the pillars of the regional economy, best practices such as PPM have yet to be fully embraced by contractors and developers, according to CMCS, an authorised representative of Oracle Primavera in the Middle East.
It will present PPM as an essential business tool that can help regional project-driven businesses optimise performance and minimize risks to overcome the impact of the economic crisis.
“Despite proving itself as a key to business growth and development across the globe, especially during hard times, project management is still in its infancy stage when it comes to the Middle Eastern business community,” said Bassam Al-Samman, CEO and founder of CMCS.
“In fact, only 30 to 40 per cent of companies in the region are aware of the advantages of using this business tool, as compared to 95 per cent in the US. We thus intend to capitalize on our roadshows to introduce the numerous benefits of PPM across the region’s project-driven sectors,” he added.
The seminar will highlight the importance of Oracle Primavera solutions, Hard Dollar project cost management and Synchro four-dimensional construction simulation software in managing costs and optimizing resources.
It will also emphasise on how the world's leading PPM solutions vendor, Oracle Primavera, enhances projects through products such as Primavera P6 Enterprise PPM, Primavera contract management, Primavera earned value management, and Primavera risk analysis.
Primavera risk analysis, for example, provides a comprehensive tool for assessing the impact of project risks on schedule and budget, determining the confidence level of project success and preparing contingency and risk response plans.
The complete range of CMCS PPM services, which includes professional consultancy services, software solutions and professional development trainings, will be presented at the event.
Attendees will be entitled to four professional development units (PDU) out of the 35 PDUs required for the project management professional certification exam administered by CMCS on behalf of the project management institute.
Among the prominent companies that have confirmed their participation in the seminar are Takreer, Adnoc Distribution, Siemens, Keo International Consultants, Transco, Taisei Corporation, Turner International and Alec Sembawang UAE. – TradeArabia News Service
