Aero GP champ joins Al Ain green campaign

Dubai, January 29, 2009

Zoltan Veres, the four times Guinness World Record Holder and two-time Aero GP champion, became a part of Al Ain Mineral Water Company’s campaign against PET waste.

As part of its pursuit of spreading the message to reduce, reuse and recycle, the company has installed a bottle shrinking device at the ongoing Al Ain Aerobatic Show.

The device reduces the size of the PET bottle by 80-90 per cent. Under this exciting environmental drive, all spectators are being given a complimentary Al Ain Water bottle upon entry to the show, which if later taken to the company’s ‘Shrink-a-Bottle’ booth for recycling, will be exchanged for another bottle of water.

“I encourage all the spectators to visit the Al Ain Mineral Water exhibition stand, and see for themselves one of the simplest yet most effective ways to recycle PET – even a child can do it,” said Zoltán.

Zoltán Veres is one of the most colourful names in European aviation, with more than 14,000 flying hours in around 110 aircrafts.

'This initiative is aimed at educating the general public upon the need to recycle PET bottles in the UAE, and particularly reduce the huge quantity of PET waste emerging out of large scale events such as these,' said Fasahat Beg, general manager - Al Ain Mineral Water Company.

'With more than 125,000 spectators from 40 countries, here to witness the spectacle of the Al Ain Aerobatic Show, we look at reinforcing an environment friendly approach to this event.'-TradeArabia News Service
