AMG hosts Diff Gala Dinner

Dubai, December 20, 2008

The Arab Media Group (AMG), the Middle East’s largest media conglomerate in the region, sponsored the Arts and Culture Gala Dinner on the sidelines of the Dubai International Film Festival (Diff) 2008.

The sponsorship validates Arab Media Group’s vision of creating a regional platform for Middle Eastern arts and culture to support the increasing number of promising artists not only in the UAE but also the growing market of regional talent.

“There is a wealth of richness and originality in this region that deserves to be showcased and broadcast across our own media in order to reach our local communities as well as international audiences. We see AMG’s direct role as being a lead supporter of the Middle East’s prolific arts and cultural landscape,” said CEO of AMG Abdullatif Al Sayegh.

During the gala dinner, Butheina Hamed Kazim, Project Manager and Head of the Cultural Committee at AMG, stressed the importance of supporting artists at the Dubai International Film Festival and acknowledged the need to find similar platforms to showcase the diverse art community in the Arab world.

“In our role as promoters of the region’s arts and culture movement, we are highly committed to supporting forums such as Diff. At AMG, we constantly aim to provide a rich exposure to emerging pan-Arab artists and filmmakers, and celebrate the excellence of individuals in arts and culture across the region,” Kazim said:

Founded in 2005, AMG owns a wide array of media properties, including ARN, a radio division that broadcasts across eight frequencies; Awraq Publishing, a publishing division that operates three daily newspapers and several magazines; Done Events, an events company; Shoof Advertising, an outdoor advertising company; Tawseel, an independent distribution company; and Masar, a printing house. – TradeArabia News Service
