Bahrain foils terror plot

Manama, December 18, 2008

A terrorist bombing attack, aimed at disrupting National Day and Accession Day celebrations, has been foiled, national security sources said.

A group of suspects has been arrested, national security sources announced last night.

The group planned to detonate homemade explosives containing iron pellets aimed at causing maximum damage to people and property.

Security forces followed proper legal procedures while arresting members of the group, including obtaining a warrant from the General Prosecution.

More details will be announced in due course.

The Sources stressed that the nation's safety, stability and unity were top priority, pointing out that illegal acts will be firmly dealt with.-TradeArabia News Service
