Riyadh, November 25, 2008

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has appointed Simon Probst as Chef De Cuisine for The Globe, the iconic restaurant that overlooks Riyadh with panoramic views from atop Al Faisaliah Tower.

Chef Probst, who has more than a decade of experience in Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe, will oversee the culinary direction for the hotel’s finest restaurant.

“Chef Probst has worked in some of the finest restaurants throughout the world, and joins us from Beijing,” said Wolfgang Pachler, managing director at Al Faisaliah Hotel.

'His training and subsequent posts in Europe, one of which included two years under internationally renowned chef Gordon Ramsey in London, as well as the Far East have given him a wealth of talent.'

“The Globe is the crowning culinary achievement of Al Faisaliah Hotel, and holds an eminent position in the Saudi Arabian dining scene, celebrated by Riyadh residents and visitors alike.'

“The distinctive, innovative cuisine and awe-inspiring location truly provide guests a unique and memorable dining experience, and Chef Probst’s appointment will greatly contribute to our illustrious reputation,” added Pachler.
