MMS 2008 begins tomorrow

The Media and Marketing Show 2008 (MMS), the region’s premier event for the media and marketing industry, will open tomorrow (November 3) in Dubai.
The three-day event has attracted more than 200 exhibitors from 55 countries and represents 600 regional brands.
“The communications industry in Dubai and the UAE at large is serving as a model for the rest of the region. The MMS is an initiative in the direction of providing a boost to this particular sector, as well as providing a forum for communication professionals from across the region,” said Abdullah Abulhoul, CEO of Domus Group, the organiser of MMS.
“This year in particular we have a very impressive line-up of conferences and workshops that will undoubtedly be of great significance and help to attending media professionals,” he added.
Ellen Sandler, the Emmy-nominated co-executive producer and writer of Everybody Loves Raymond, will be conducting a workshop titled ‘Everybody Loves Sitcoms’ presented by Hollywood in Dubai, which will teach the participants the necessary skills required to produce, sell, and market sitcoms to television networks and studios.
Ipsos Mena and Applied Digital Media Services will both be offering a series of workshops on media research methodologies and opportunities, and Apple and Adobe software respectively.
In addition, ITP will be running the Arabian Business Media and Marketing Conference 2008 on the first day of the show, featuring 6 of the region’s leading media personalities talk about marketing communications, and journalism in the region.-TradeArabia News Service
