Bahrain vows to protect people's lives
Manama, October 6, 2008
The Government on Sunday vowed to protect people against any criminal acts endangering their lives, following the Demistan village terror attack.
"All measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of people and their property within the framework of the law," a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on Sunday said.
It also condemned the criminal act which targeted the lives of three people, said a report in our sister publication, the Gulf Daily News.
"Such despicable deeds contradict most basic religious values and precepts which stress the sanctity of human life," Cabinet Affairs Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Ateyatala Al Khalifa said, following the session at Gudaibiya Palace.
He said that nothing could justify such criminal acts targeting people's lives.
"Freedom and democracy have provided new channels to express opinions instead of resorting to criminal acts which are condemned officially and popularly," he said. - TradeArabia News Service
