DI opens one-stop customer service centre

Dubai, July 27, 2008

Dubai Industrial City (DI), a member of Tatweer, has opened a one-stop customer service centre offering 10 UAE government departments’ transactions under a single roof.

The centre is the largest facility of its kind in the country with dedicated counters that offer complete transactions from Dubai Municipality (DM), Road and Transport Authority (RTA), the Department of Economic Development (DED), Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), Dubai Police, the Dubai Chamber (DCCI), the Ministry of Labour, the Dubai Naturalisation Residency Department (DNRD), the Civil Defence and Dubai Customs.

The customer service centre is located on the ground floor of DI’s main office building.

Rashed Al Ansari, vice president of Dubai Industrial City said: ’This centre reflects our innovative approach to offering complete services to our investors and to serve the community in areas near the city in Jebel Ali and new areas in Dubai such as the Dubai Waterfront.’

’The idea is to group all the services in one location to save people time and effort, as well as avoiding the hassle of driving from one department to another.’

’In our customer service centre, people can apply for and renew a multitude of government-related documents. In short our centre offers complete government services in one dedicated hall through a single window concept, Al Ansari explained.

Among the documents that can be applied for or renwed at the centre are
residence and visit visas; visa adjustments for UAE residents; labour permits and cards; new company and commercial licenses and no objection certificates for commercial sites from the planning section at Dubai municipality.

In addition, individuals can pay utility bills and municipality fees; clear custom documents; renew driviving licences; pay traffic fines, and complete car registrations.

Al Ansari pointed out that through the centre, customers can access on-the-spot government services across 14 dedicated counters as well as benefit from other supporting facilities such as banking services offered from Dubai Islamic bank, typing services and dedicated corporate services offered to companies.

’These dedicated corporate services were developed with companies in mind, especially large ones that need to complete a lot of transactions in an easy and hassle free environment. We can ensure that their official documents and transactions are in order and completed on time.’

Spread over 560 million sq ft, Dubai Industrial City, which is designed as a viable live, work and play destination, features six industrial clusters for the food and beverage, base metal, mineral products, chemicals, transport equipment and parts, and machinery and mechanical equipment sectors.-TradeArabia News Service
